Discovery Service

From Information Grid

Jump to: navigation, search

The Information Grid has 3 components that work collaboratively. These are

  1. Marker Directory,
  2. Information Broker and
  3. Discovery Service.

The Discovery Service is introduced to advise the user application to which Information Brokers it should connect in order to obtain the information it needs. Like the Information Broker, the Discover Service sites are also connected forming a network. An Information Broker should be registered to one or more sites and the meta data of the Brokers are submitted to and exchanged among the Discover Service sites.

Search based on Marker Select Information Broker based on Information availability and response time. Information availability: Ontology, Semantic, Sub-set, Super-set etc. To design this we need to know about Marker and Marker Description Language. Response time: cpu load and available network bandwidth.
